Troop 51 Open House

Thinking about Boys Scouts? Want to have great outdoor experiences? Want to create memories that will last a lifetime?

Troop 51’s annual Open House nights are on November 14, 2018 & January 23, 2019 at 7PM at Floris United Methodist Church. At our Open Houses, prospective Boy Scouts will get to take part in a live Scout meeting! They will work directly with one of our patrols, where they will be taught Scout skills, like first aid, knot tying, lashings and a whole lot more. Each night ends with a game and refreshments.

Troop 51 meets every week on Wednesday night from 7:15 to 8:30 (please arrive by 7PM). We hold one campout or outing each month that include events such as cave exploration, climbing, skiing, fishing and a full weekend of rifle and shotgun shooting and archery. All our events are “age neutral”, meaning that whether you are 10 or 100, we will have an event that you can take part in. Troop 51 is also very family-oriented. We encourage you to bring along your other family members to all the events and enjoy them as a family!

In addition to all our exciting camping opportunities, Troop 51 attends summer camp annually and we sponsor 1 to 2 BSA high adventure trips, where Scouts can take part in back-country hiking in New Mexico, canoeing adventures in Minnesota or Canada, and even scuba diving and sailing in the Florida Keys!

If you are looking for an outdoor-focused troop that balances the demands of both Scouting and all your Scout’s extracurricular activities, then Troop 51 is the right troop for you!
