First Aid Merit Badge Class – October 1, 2016


In partnership with the Center for Wilderness Safety, Troop 51 will be holding a First Aid Merit Badge class on Saturday, October 1, 2016.

8am – 4pm (includes 1 hour for lunch+)
Cost: $35*
Location: Floris UMC (13600 Frying Pan Rd, Herndon, VA 20171)
Registration: (limited to the first 30 people who register, so do not delay in registering)

* – If you have sufficient credit allocated in your Troop 51 Scout account, you can submit your receipt for the class fee in order to be reimbursed.


  1. You must be able to demonstrate current knowledge of the Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks first aid requirements.  Whether you have those requirements signed-off or not, you need to be able to demonstrate current knowledge.  Scouts need to read the First Aid chapter in The Boy Scout Handbook to refresh your knowledge.
  2. Scouts should also come to the first aid merit badge class prepared with this merit badge requirement:

“2d: Prepare a first aid kit for your home. Display and discuss its contents with your counselor.”

Hint: read the first aid chapter of The Boy Scout Handbook to find out what should be in your first aid kit.

Remember that the First Class merit badge is an Eagle-required merit badge.  It is also required in order to earn the Emergency Preparedness merit badge (also an Eagle-required merit badge).

The Scoutmaster will provide merit badge applications (aka, “blue cards”) for each Scout that registers for the class.

Parents are encouraged to stay for the class and learn along with the Scouts!
