Troop 51 descended on Ellanor C Lawrence Park to serve the community and take care of the environment. Under the direction of the troop 51 outdoor ethics guide, Connor J, and park staff, a team of troop 51 scouts removed invasive garlic mustard and Japanese bush honeysuckle plants
According to Thea Angeli, park volunteer manager and naturalist, “the park is super thankful to Troop51 for their help fighting the Japanese Honey Suckle.”
Connor J, the troop ethics guide summed it up, “We did a good job and learned a lot of work using the weed wrenches.”
These invasive plants grow faster, longer, and take valuable energy and sunlight from native Virginia plants
