Wilderness Survival Campout September ’26

Troop 51 recently completed their “Wilderness Survival” Campout at Richmond, VA from September 18 to September 20, 2026.

Friday (9/18)

The troop departed from Floris UMC at 5:30 PM and reached at around 6:30 PM.

As soon as the scouts got to the area, they all unpacked and helped set up a giant, 3-room party tent in which they would sleep.

Most people had dinner before leaving or during the trip, but there was still a Cracker Barrel at night.

Saturday (9/19)

After the troop woke up, everyone ate breakfast and went out for a 3-mile hike.

After everyone was back at the campsite and rested for a while, the grubmasters supervised the cooks when preparing lunch. After lunch was finished, the older scouts helped the younger scouts in achieving some requirements.

They made a fire that lasted for two minutes and cooled it down. Then, the cooks prepared dinner and everyone went to sleep after that.

Sunday (9/20)

The troop woke up at around 7:00 AM and packed up. Everyone departed at 9:15 AM and reached Floris UMC at about 10:30.
